But its hard to track'em all down, so basically I wanted to see if you guys could fill in the links so i wouldn't be forced to stop after every building and look for all every spell/technology/doctrine it unlocks ^^. It would help me move faster.

2010-10-05 [Duredhel]: OK! Guys, I'm considering a few changes to be made, but wanted to know what you, the players, thought about them.

1. Stockpiling gold seems to be a bit too easy, so I'm thinking of making it so all soldiers have a 3 or maybe 5 gold upkeep to indicate they are being paid a salary.
2. I'm thinking of setting up a small "available mercenaries" section in each territory, so you can hire troops with some local flavour if you're in a jiffy.
3. I'm considering setting up a small area where you can take premade armies or armies constructed from the troops you have available and pitch them against each other for competition sake and to gain some battle experience. Lemme know your thoughts on this.

2010-10-06 [Lepellier]: I really like the available mercenaries part. The arena like idea seems a little strange to me because, from what it sounds like, the troops just suddenly end up there? Maybe I just need more details. As for the gold thing, I'm not sure how I feel about that, because, well, I like my gold.

2010-10-14 [Roma]: The only problem with a table is that its probably going to create more work for Dur, since things are constantly being added and subtracted as we build up our nations (and for me, timing is more important than organization).

EDIT: not to mention, I think it would make more sense to have it organized by magic/research/cost, which is the way it is now.

2010-10-14 [Veltzeh]: Adding and subtracting stuff into and from tables doesn't generate any more work than otherwise adding or subtracting, though...

Mostly it'd be because stuff in tables seems automatically more organised and all statistical and awesome. :3 Would take less space too.

2010-10-14 [Duredhel]: Actually Veltz, it does take a lot more work. Its extremely confusing because tables do not maintain the format once you enter edit mode. I rue the thought of editing anything in your agents page because table might look nice in page, but once you hit edit, they become a big ball o' crap.

Dude, the combat is actually pretty quick XD. It's the friggin turn changes that kill me XD. Maybe i'll make it so a turn is two weeks... or enlist some veltzhelp.

2011-05-12 [Roma]: For me, its all the numbers and letters I have to write down, and the quantity of troops to place. I know I've got lots, but still! I have a hard time keeping track.

2011-05-12 [Duredhel]: Uhhm.. aye. Would it be easier if you could just determine one spot for each regiment and it formed around that spot? That way even if a regiment takes up 5 squares, you only need to write down one. It'll take away a degree of control, but players who want to micromanage battles can still do it. You can also determine how the other 4 squares will organize by going something like; "Form up in a line! Form up in a forward V! Double Line!"

2011-05-12 [Roma]: Well... I'm no strategic mastermind anyway, so yeah, that will probably be fine. Unless, of course, there's a noticeable difference in the likelihood of a favorable outcome.

2011-05-12 [Veltzeh]: Yeah, I can calculate the resources and check the building stuff and all that (well, save for when there isn't any info on what building some building does). I think I know how it's done, but if you want to double-check, make me a little guide.

Also, in case I need to see or edit some protected wikis, you don't need to change wiki permissions since I can edit them anyway. :D I just need to know where they are.

Turn change, at the start of turn:
1) Resource shipments arrive, resources are produced.
2) Resource deductions take place (payment and eating food).
3) Units and agents who finish training will become available.

After a turn change, player actions (all optional):
1) Build 1 building in each region.
2.1) Research doctrines, technologies or magic (DTMs).
2.2) Send resources from one area to another.
3.1) Reassign people between food, minerals, timber and goods.
3.2) Train more units or agents or retrain them.
3.3) Reassign or move agents or units.
3.4) Buy or sell DTMs, resources or goods.

Management notes:
1) Buildings cost food, minerals, timber, magic or gold. They modify resource caps, population growth, happiness, health or TT. They may grant doctrines, technologies or magic.
2.1) DTMS cost gold. Civic technologies may modify resource production or caps, happiness, health. They may allow for more DTMs.
2.2) Resources are deducted right away and arrive to an adjacent area at the start of the next turn.

Does upkeep (food) change between steps 1 and 2 because there are more people?

2011-05-20 [Duredhel]: Nah, upkeep is done at the very end of the previous turn. So the new people don't consume food the turn they.. uhm.. "arrive"

2011-05-20 [Veltzeh]: Yup. This looks pretty good now:

Turn change, at the start of turn:
1) Resource shipments arrive, resources (food, timber, minerals) are produced, money is taxed.
2) Upkeep (food, payment money).
3) Population changes.
4) Units and agents who finish training will become available.

2011-05-20 [Veltzeh]: I put the religion conversion with the population change. But now I wonder how to determine how many people convert from certain religions. Like in Mount Mist, the conversion was 22 percentage units and three religions lost 4 percentage units and one lost 10. So yeah, why did one lose 10 and the others 4?
